The Schroth method of exercises for scoliosis was developed by Katherina Schroth, in Germany in 1927 as a result of researching treatments for her own scoliosis condition. By the 1960s, the Schroth Method had become the standard non-surgical treatment for scoliosis and has increased it’s reputation in the United States since.

By developing the inner muscles of the rib cage, these exercises change the shape of the upper body to correct any spinal abnormalities. As a result, people experience decreased pain, a slowing or complete halting of curvature progression, and improved posture, cardio-pulmonary function and mobility.
